Bellevue House, built in 1863 of local grey stone, is situated in an elevated position above the town of Ventnor and now provides relaxed and spacious B&B accommodation. Recent refurbishment has resulted in the prestigious 4 Diamond award from the English Tourist Board. All visitors are assured of a high standard of comfort and hospitality. |

All guest rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated. Guest lounge provides colour TV/video, Hi-Fi, and a selection of books, music, videos and games. French doors lead onto the south facing garden and patio offering a colourful and tranquil area with seating and sea views. Palm trees in the garden reflect the local moderate climate. Breakfast offers a wide selection of cereals, juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt and any combination of a full English Breakfast. Morning newspapers are provided. All bedrooms are en-suite, some with sea views and balcony. Balconies are south facing with views over the sea and the town of Ventnor and surrounding area. Patio chairs and tables provide a peaceful seating area for soaking up the sunshine, observing sun-sets and sun-rises or just watching the passing ships and boats. All bedrooms are equipped with colour TVs and tea / coffee making facilities. There is parking for several cars, or alternatively, free transport to and from the ferries can be arranged. The town of Ventnor and the beach are only five minutes away. Several restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance offering a wide variety of foods, including locally caught fish, vegetarian dishes, South African and Chinese cuisine. Nearby interesting country pubs also offer an excellent range of inexpensive lunches and evening meals. Many places of interest and local cottage industries can be found in Ventnor and the surrounding area including glass blowing, a pearl farm, a rare bird sanctuary and botanic gardens. The town itself has numerous interesting bric-a-brac and antique shops. The sandy beach, minutes from the house and excellent for swimming and sunbathing, is set in a picturesque cove with local cafés and bars. |
