At the western end of the Isle of Wight, The Deyne is ideally situated for exploring the many attractions the Island has to offer.

Overlooking Afton Nature Reserve with Tennyson Down beyond, The Deyne is beautifully situated in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, and is just a short level walk (approx 400 metres) to the sand and pebble beach of Freshwater Bay. The World famous Needles and Alum Bay are just a short drive away while Dimbola Lodge, the home of the Victorian photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron, is within easy walking distance.
A short drive along the coast will take you past some of the Isle of Wight's most attractive beaches, unspoiled by commercial enterprise, popular with families and windsurfers.
A paradise for walkers, West Wight has many stunning coastal paths, and of course the famous Tennyson Trail.

Golfers too are well catered for. Freshwater Bay Golf Course is just around the corner in a beautiful cliff top location with breathtaking views, and is just one of many golf courses on the Isle of Wight, but one of only two 18-hole courses. Yarmouth with its lovely harbour and old town are just 3 miles away, and is our closest ferry port. For those wishing to leave their cars behind, the Isle of Wight has a good bus service, and pick up from Yarmouth Ferry Port can be arranged.
