Pier Street, Yarmouth

Yarmouth, the ferry connection to the Mainland for West Wight is steeped in maritime history, with it's 16th century castle built as a coastal defence by King Henry VIII and its old harbours. Wightlink operate the car and passenger ferry between Yarmouth and Lymington. The town itself is a maze of narrow streets with quaint shops and tempting restaurants. There is much for the yachting community as well with the boat yards and specialist shops.

Many of Yarmouth's old buildings include the town hall, built in 1764 and was once used as the local meat market up until 1888, the 700ft pier dating back to 1876 and the tidal mill.
